RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE FEATURES OF CHINESE TRADITIONAL ART AND AESTHETIC PSYCHOLOGY


Abstract
The aesthetic psychology of the audience should be fully considered to inherit and preserve traditional art. This paper aims to disclose how the features of Chinese traditional art, especially Tangshan shadow play, affects aesthetic psychology. First, the aesthetic features of Tangshan shadow play were summed up from the beauty in image, carved lines and color symbols. Then, the author explained the embodiment of wholeness of Gestalt psychology, gestalt tendency and heterogeneity isomorphism in Tangshan shadow play, including the aesthetic communication of heterogeneous isomorphism and the association of shadow audience, and the Gestalt tendency of audiovisual elements. The results show that different audience have different aesthetic feelings, even if they are watching the same shadow show; only active perception can lead to the desired effect of “painting in the sound, and sound in the painting”. The research findings are of great importance to the inheritance and development of the shadow art.
